![]() This web site is dedicated to explaining and preserving a traditional Italian culinary delicacy, the AMARETTI DI SAN GIUSEPPE, a sweet treat dating back to the Middle Ages. From my bakery in Indian Rocks Beach Florida, I bake these macaroon cookies every day. They are then packed in air-tight tins and rapidly shipped daily all over the United States. | |

Made from a formula brought to America from the Old Country by Grandma over a Century ago, the AMARETTI DI SAN GIUSEPPE macaroon cookies are made with all-natural ingredients and lovingly baked, just like my forefathers did for hundreds of years in the brick ovens of Sicily.
I learned much of my cooking from my mother, whose skills, knowledge, and recipes were originally passed down from Grandma Nonna Rosa. I try to accurately duplicate the flavors of the flavors of the recipes that I prepare at my Pane Bello Bakery. Therefore, the treats that you are sampling are the same that we had prepared for those special occasions at home. |
| The AMARETTI DI SAN GIUSEPPE contain almond paste and almond extracts, a nut typically grown on the hills around Catania and Mount Etna, Europe's only active volcano. The Amaretto cookie is associated with spring time and the many festivals of Easter in the Old Country, right at the time when the almond trees are blooming in their full splendor. Throughout the year it makes a beautiful and tasty gift, but is especially appreciated for Easter and Holdiday giving. |
